Welcome to INN
Adding value to what we have by using the tools that we have, is believed to be the key for improvement and success. By this definition of innovation, it is clear that one should gather more assets, use more beneficial tools and consider the most effective managerial skills. However, in the generation of "information society", the value is based on the "Knowledge" rather than "physical assets". Considering all these, the only way lead us to "networks", in which the members of the network share their resources, tools and skills.
Islam brings us together, as Allah (SvT) orders us "And hold fast by the covenant of Allah all together and be not disunited" (Surah 3; verse 103) and remembers us His favor that united our hearts so by His favor we became brethren. Belief in Islam and its thoughts is the most outstanding and splendid pretext for running the network, the chain of which would be brotherhood among its members.
Inter-Islamic Network of Nanotechnology (INN) along with the other networks was established as a Center of Excellence in a key discipline to enable the COMSTECH member-states to develop a respectable level of research.
We have already organized a data bank of all scientists and researchers in the field of nanotechnology in OIC members, based on the data available in open sources. The data bank is under development for projects, title of available technologies and related equipments. Having all these information, the network will initiate its effective role with providing mutual and multilateral cooperation. Exchange of students, scientists and researchers, running mega-projects as well as providing learning tours would be the next steps.
It is believed that new emerging materials and devices in the field of high-technologies and knowledge-based economies such as energy, medicine, electronics, biomaterials could be created by Nanotechnology. Building up new materials in atomic or molecular scale is only possible by this sophisticated technology. On the other hand, it seems that Nanotechnology has the potential to provide solution for the current critical problems such as environmental pollutions, safety, detection and treatments of diseases, energy resources and so on.
I, hereby invite all the COMSTECH member-states to join actively in the "Inter-Islamic Network of Nanotechnology (INN)" and provide us the information needed for the further actions.
